How To Do A Foot Spa At Home?

let’s start with the relaxing foot spa at home:

Step 1: Trimming

1. Remove the nail polish on your feet with the nail polisher remover.

2. Cut and trim the toe nails in the required length. Remember not to cut them too short, else you might end up hurting your feet.

3. Apply a cuticle cream to soften your cuticles and push them back if you have annoying cuticles.

4. Finally, file your nails to get the desired shape.

Step 2: Foot soak

1. In a tub-full of lukewarm water, add few drops of your favourite essential oil. You can also add ½ cup of Epsom salt and 3 teaspoon of the almond oil.

2. Mix them gently and add the foot wash. If you don’t have a foot wash, then add 1-2 teaspoon of your clarifying shampoo and stir well to lather it well.

3. Soak your feet into the water and relax for 10 minutes. The salt is an emollient and also reduces the inflammation and pain of the feet. It also helps in the exfoliation of the feet to remove the dirt and dead cells and reduce roughness.

4. After 10 minutes, remove the feet and dry them completely with towel.

Step 3- Exfoliation

1. Once your feet have become soft, gently exfoliate the heels, ankles and sides of the heel using the pumice stone or foot file.

2. Again dip your feet into the same water and repeat it with the other foot.

3. Now use the foot scrub to massage your feet and also the soles. Pay special attention to the heels, ankles and area in between the toes of your feet. Scrub gently in circular motions for 5-6 minutes and wash off.

4. If you do not have any foot scrub, then you can use any facial scrub or body scrub available at your home.

Step 4: Moisturization

1. After drying your feet well, massage them using a foot massage cream of your choice. Keep massaging gently for 5-6 minutes till your skin absorbs the cream well.

2. If you do not have a foot massage cream, then you can use any moisturizer of your choice. After your feet absorbs the cream, paint your toe nails with your favourite nail paint.

3. You can also combine 10-12 drops of the almond oil with any essential oil to prepare homemade massage oil.

4. Wear loose cotton socks to protect your feet from dirt and germs.
