whose real name is Mohamed Hedi Ben Abdessalem Ben Ahmed Ben Hassine , born on 1 November1909 in Tunis and died on 30 November 1990 , is a singer , oud player and composer Tunisia .

During his long career, Jouini wrote nearly 1070 songs and 56 operettas . Songs to the tunes inspired flamenco continue to find success in Tunisia and the countries of the Mashreq .

Native child of the district of Bab Jadid , he accompanied his comrades in ceremonial circumcision and sings the hymns . Soon, his interest in music and the song made ​​him abandon his studies . He likes then particularly the works of singer Mohammed Abdel Wahab .

Early on, he joined a band local, the Hsinia, where he learned to play the piston . However, this instrument does not correspond to its real sensuality which awakens the day he attends a concert at the Tunis Municipal Theatre by Farid Ghosn , great oud player of 1930

After a brief stay in the Rachidia , Jouini began performing at the age of sixteen, in small local formations of a Player mandolin .But it is Mouni Jebali , father Maurice Meimoun , who introduced him to the oud. In twenty years, its popularity is increasing since sings with Arruqi company with headquarters in Bab Souika . It is also part of the artists of Taht Essour , coffee around which stands a whole school of poets , of lyricists and songwriters . Like all artists of Taht Essour, it addresses almost every genre known at the time, light songs, muwashshahs , the dawrs, the folklore of Tunisia, of operettas , film music and patriotic songs.

He also works with Mahmoud Bayrem Ettounsi . The first tubes that consists interpreted by Hassiba Rochdi accompanied by an orchestra led by Mohamed Triki . When Ali Riahimade ​​his first public appearance in 1936 , Jouini is part of the orchestra that accompanies .

It incorporates Radio Tunis , from its inauguration in 1938 , and it provides a weekly live concert.

In 1940 , he starred in the film The Possessed of Jean Bastia . He also writes and composes the songs of the film The Seventh door ofAndré Zwobada , where he appears with his wife, singer Widad.

In 1966 , he was elevated to the rank of Officer of the Order of the Republic by President Habib Bourguiba . He then receives the congratulations of the President of the SACEM , Georges Auric , and all members of its board of directors. In 1982 , he was again decorated by President Bourguiba for all his work and for his contribution to the enrichment of the Tunisian cultural heritage.

In 1986 , he produced his last composition Masbarnech. A year later, in 1987 , carried Jouini his last public appearance on stage at theInternational Festival of Carthage
